Rescue & reintegration of street children into society

Local & Direct

The modest size of our organisation allows us to optimise the use of resources, to guarantee real benefits to the child and avoiding waste.

Holistic approach

We look at the holistic development of the child, creating an individualised intervention to help them grow in all aspects of life.

Sustainable

Sustainable & long lasting results by empowering families & communities and using trained local staff to reintegrate the child into society.

What is Kikora project

Kikora Street Children in Maralal aims to improve the lives of children living on the street in Maralal (Samburu County -Northern Kenya), through a program of physical, psychological and emotional rehabilitation of the child terminating with his reintegration within the family and society.

The trained staff offer educational and psychological support to the children while searching within the child's family the most appropriate relative to take care of the child in order to achieve a peaceful familiar, social and scholastic reintegration.

The project is supported by the Italian associations AVI Onlus(Associazione Volontariato – “Insieme”) from Montebelluna (TV) together with KARIBU Onlus Scorzè and it's implemented by the Kenyan NGO Advocacy & Development Initiative (ADI - Kenya), with headquarter in Maralal. Between 2017 and 2019 the project was partially funded by the Italian foundation Fondazione Zanetti Onlus (TV).
